Class Rank and Class Year

Class Rank

Your rank in class is determined by your cumulative grade-point average compared with the averages of all other students in your class. To obtain your class rank, go to the Office of Academic Services, Engineering Bldg B-100. For reasons of privacy and for the security of your record, the office is unable to respond to requests for rank in class on the telephone.

Class Year

Your class year is determined by your anticipated year of graduation (ie. complettion of all degree requirements). Students are classified according to where they are within the engineering curriculum. A Dean in the Office of Academic Services may reclassify you if you are ahead or behing with certain courses required to be at that particular class year. If you take extra classes during the semester or take classes over the summer, you can request to be reclassified to the appropriate year. Contact your dean for further assistance.
