Dean's List
At the end of each term, the Dean’s List recognizes those students who have obtained the following term averages with no grades of F while enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits (with letter grades, Pass/Nocr is not acceptable) of engineering or engineering-related courses. All courses for which a student is enrolled must be completed and grades must be recorded at the time the Dean’s List is prepared. Students on the Dean’s List have a special designation on their university transcript. Students make the Dean's list if their semester GPA is:
- Seniors: 3.5 or better
- Juniors: 3.4 or better
- Sophomores: 3.3 or better
- First-year students: 3.2 or better
Graduating with Honors
In order to graduate with an honors designation, you must have a certain final cumulative GPA:
- With Honors (Cum Laude): 3.200+
- With High Honors (Magna Cum Laude): 3.400+
- With Highest Honors (Summa Cum Laude): 3.650+
Rutgers uses a 3 decimal place GPA. Therefore 3.1994 rounds down to 3.199 (no honors), whereas 3.1995 rounds up to 3.200 (with honors).
