Yamaguchi receives JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship for Research Abroad

Dr. Hisato Yamaguchi, a postdoctoral researcher working under Professor Manish Chhowalla in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Rutgers University, was recently awarded a prestigious fellowship from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). The JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship for Research Abroad is an initiative to support Japanese postdoctoral researchers who are conducting research at foreign universities. The Fellowship covers travel expenses, a stipend and a research grant for a period of two years. Yamaguchi has fortunately decided to remain at Rutgers University working in Professor Chhowalla’s group. The Fellowship for Research Abroad awarded to Yamaguchi is highly competitive and is typically given to candidates in top tier institutions such as Stanford, MIT, and UC Berkeley. Yamaguchi’s outstanding achievement truly showcases the diversified talent pool within the engineering community at Rutgers University.
