About

Dr. Nicholas Paraskevopoulos is vice president of Emerging Capabilities Development and the chief technology officer for Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems sector. The Mission Systems sector is a leading global provider, manufacturer, and integrator of advanced, secure, and agile software-defined systems and solutions.

In this position, Dr. Paraskevopoulos has executive responsibility for leading an organization chartered with creating new products, driving the maturation and development of discriminating technologies, transitioning advanced capabilities, and accelerating the corporation's technology business across the sector. Prior to his current position, he led the former Engineering, Sciences, and R&D organization for the Mission Systems sector as the sector vice president. In this position, Dr. Paraskevopoulos led an organization of over 17,000 employees and had executive responsibility for all engineering, sciences, and technology processes, services, and systems across the sector.

Dr. Paraskevopoulos joined the company in 2003 and has held a variety of leadership positions including vice president of next-gen maritime and integrated air and missile defense (IAMD) for the Advanced Concepts and Technologies division. In this role, he oversaw the sector's advanced maritime and IAMD products with particular focus on innovative, affordable, open architecture concepts. Previous to that, he also served as vice president of engineering and director of advanced technology for the sector.

Before joining Northrop Grumman, Dr. Paraskevopoulos was vice president of research and development and engineering for Terk Technologies. While at Terk, he led pivotal development projects such as the multi-satellite dish for DIRECTV, the first XM Satellite Radio car antenna, and the development of HDTV specification standards for digital TV accessories. 

Dr. Paraskevopoulos has a B.S.E. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.S.E. and Ph.D. from Rutgers University in Electrical Engineering. He also completed Harvard Business School's General Management Program. Dr. Paraskevopoulos sits on the board of directors for CEA Technologies, a Northrop Grumman-owned radar company in Australia.
