"Rutgers taught me resilience. It forced me to become much better at managing my time, energy, and priorities." - Vincent Logozio

Vinny Logozio fulfilled a longtime dream as a mechanical engineering junior when, together with his roommate, Ray Scanlon, he was on a team with a winning submission to the Walt Disney Imagineering Imaginations Design Competition for college students. It was a pathway to a successful career in themed entertainment, beginning with an Imagineering internship and roles as an animatronic character engineer and special effects production designer. He followed his nine years at Disney with seven years in leadership roles at Meow Wolf before becoming senior director of production at Boston-based Level99 Entertainment, an immersive gaming entertainment playground, in December 2025.

Why Rutgers?

Rutgers was a great value, and it was close to home. Of the universities I was accepted by, Rutgers also offered the strongest financial aid package, which made the decision much easier.

What do you value most about your Rutgers Engineering education?

More than anything, Rutgers taught me resilience. The program was challenging, and I was commuting to campus while juggling classes from early morning until late at night most semesters, along with a work-study job. It forced me to become much better at managing my time, energy, and priorities.

Yet for me, the driving prize through all of it was the opportunity to land a job in an industry I genuinely loved: themed entertainment design and fabrication. That goal made even the hardest days worthwhile because I knew what I was working toward.

What advice would you have for new students?

Stay out of debt if you can, get as much practical, hands-on experience as possible, and learn how to be an exceptional teammate before leaving school and entering the job market.

What was most rewarding during your seven years at Meow Wolf?

During COVID, we were navigating a tremendous amount of uncertainty while also trying to grow and deliver ambitious new projects. We had to develop our own production process that fit Meow Wolf's unique creative culture and what we were trying to accomplish.

What I most enjoyed was the constant cycle of experimentation and improvement. We'd try something, learn from it, refine it, and then apply those lessons to the next project.

Watching that process mature and ultimately support four new immersive and interactive site openings, with Los Angeles well underway when I departed, was incredibly satisfying. But the real reward was the people. Nothing would have happened without an exceptional team that bought into this mission and showed up every day to solve problems together.

What are your responsibilities at Level99 Entertainment?

I'm responsible for leading our in-house production efforts for new venue openings as well as the development of new challenge experiences. That includes production strategy, long-range planning, resource allocation, process development, and helping scale the team as the company grows.

I'm fortunate to work alongside an exceptionally talented group of designers, fabricators, technicians, artists, and production leaders. My role is to help remove obstacles, create alignment, and contribute wherever I can to help the team succeed.

One thing that makes this role unique is how close I am to the work itself. I spend a lot of time working directly with the people building these experiences, and that's something I value tremendously.

What do you enjoy most about your new job?

It draws on more of my skillset than any position I've held before. There's a strategic side involving long-term planning and organizational development, but there is also a very hands-on side that I find incredibly rewarding.

There's something deeply satisfying about ending the day having contributed both strategically and physically. I get to help shape where we're going while also helping to build the things that get us there.

Are you developing new games?

Yes, all the time. New challenge development is a major part of what we do. Our team is constantly prototyping, testing, and refining new experiences while also improving existing games based on player behavior and operational learning.

Will there be more Level99 locations in the future?

Yes, we are very much continuing to grow! I'm focused on helpin

g build the systems, processes, and production capacity needed to support that growth while maintaining the quality of the player experience. It's an exciting challenge because that growth only matters if you can preserve what makes the experience special in the first place.

What do you predict for the future of interactive entertainment?

I think we'll see more experimentation in location-based entertainment, more investment from the major players in their already successful IP, and perhaps most importantly, more innovation coming from smaller outsider teams willing to take creative risks.

What did you do for fun at Rutgers?

College was an amazing time to try new things. I got into mixed martial arts, SCUBA diving, ballroom dancing, and snowboarding. I also read a lot of fiction and spent many late nights playing board and video games with friends. Later in school, I discovered a love for writing, filmmaking, and building props for amateur comedy videos. All of these eclectic pursuits had a direct impact on the project and portfolio that helped me land my first job at Disney Imagineering.

What do you do for fun these days?

My wife and I have had some amazing adventures around the world, and we love to experiment cooking food from every cuisine we've tried. We also play a lot of video games together and watching spooky movies whenever we get the chance.

These days, though, most of my free time revolves around my family. We have two daughters and a dog, and some of our best days are spent exploring the forests around our home, wandering down to the nearby ponds, and helping our kids discover the plants, animals, and ecology around us. We keep our hats and adventure bags right near the door.

If you were to on vacation tomorrow, where would you go?

The Galapagos Islands.
