Faculty Recognition Program

The Rutgers School of Engineering Faculty Recognition Program celebrates faculty members whose exceptional contributions advance teaching, research, innovation, collaboration, and service.

Through multiple recognition categories, the program honors faculty who make a meaningful impact on our students, the School of Engineering, Rutgers University, the engineering profession, the scientific community, industry, and society.

We invite faculty, students, department and school leadership, staff, alumni, and other members of the Rutgers community to nominate outstanding faculty members for recognition.

Award Categories

  • Innovation in Teaching
    Eecognizes faculty who demonstrate excellence and innovation in education through the development of innovative teaching methods, effective use of educational technologies, measurable impact on student learning, dissemination or scalability of instructional practices, and/or outstanding mentorship.
  • Industry Collaboration
    Recognizes faculty who foster collaborative academic and industrial communities and make significant contributions through industry partnerships, global research collaborations, professional leadership, governance, professional societies, and/or STEM outreach.
  • Outstanding Faculty
    Recognizes an outstanding faculty member in engineering programs at Rutgers whose accomplishments demonstrate outstanding scholarship, excellence in teaching, and devoted service.
  • Faculty of the Year
    Recognizes exceptional contributions by a School of Engineering faculty member to the School of Engineering, Rutgers University, the engineering profession, the scientific community, and/or society at large.

Eligibility

Nominees must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a full-time tenure-track or non-tenure-track faculty member at the Rutgers School of Engineering.
  • Have a minimum of six years of service at Rutgers School of Engineering.
  • Have not received similar recognition within the past five years.
  • Faculty at all ranks—Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor—are eligible.
  • Self-nominations will not be considered.
