Frequently Asked Questions

  • Graduation includes two significant events to celebrate your achievement:

The School of Engineering Convocation on Friday, May 15, 2026 is a school-specific event, where you’ll join your engineering graduating class, walk across the stage, and receive individual recognition.

The Rutgers University–New Brunswick and Rutgers Health Commencement ceremony will confer degrees at SHI Stadium on Sunday, May 17, 2026. This event allows the Rutgers–New Brunswick and Rutgers Health graduates to celebrate together; however, students will not be individually recognized.

Learn more about the two ways to celebrate your graduation in this video.

You may choose to attend both or whichever ceremony you prefer. We hope you will plan to participate in both ceremonies for the whole experience.

  • Graduate and guest tickets will be sent to your Rutgers Ticket Account, which will be live on March 3. Note that this site/portal is only to be accessed by students using their NetID.

See our guides for the following:

    • How to download your tickets
    • How to transfer tickets (Tickets can be transferred until they are scanned at the door for entrance. This is useful if a guest who received a ticket is unable to attend, their ticket may be given to someone else.)
    • And, for your guests, how to accept tickets (Guests may have multiple tickets on their smart phone to accommodate others who do not have a device. They will need to enter the building together. If a guest is traveling alone and doesn't have a smart phone, they will be directed to the box office window at the front of Jersey Mike's Arena and be asked to share their graduate's full name.)
  • Requests for extra tickets will be accepted from April 16 to May 1, 2026, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please watch for more details.
