The School of Engineering (SoE) hosts department tours for prospective students and their families to provide an in-depth overview of the engineering departments and curricula. Department tours run during the spring and fall semesters (typically during February-April and October-November) and take place on select Fridays. In addition, general SoE tours are available during the summer months.
Tuesdays: July 9, 16, 23; August 6, 13
Thursdays: July 11, 18; August 1, 8
What to Expect
In collaboration with Undergraduate Admissions, the Engineering Tour begins at the Rutgers University Visitors Center at 9:30 a.m. with an Admissions Info Session. Then, students and their families will participate in a walking tour of Busch campus. You will have time to grab lunch on your own and will reconvene at at 1:00 p.m. with an overview of the School of Engineering, a student panel and two Engineering departmental visits. You will receive an itemized agenda in your confirmation email, after submitting your registration form online.
Each date will feature different engineering departments. There will also be days when a hands-on activity is featured as part of your visit. Please select your tour date carefully when you register.
Students who are exploring their college options, but have not yet applied or been admitted to the Rutgers School of Engineering, will benefit from attending a General Engineering tour. These tours will focus more on the admissions criteria, the application process, and an overview of SoE.
Registration will open in June.
