SoE Graduation Ceremonies

Commencement & School Convocations

We are developing plans that anticipate COVID-19’s probable effect on events at Rutgers, such as university commencements and school convocations. Check the Universitywide COVID-19 Information page as well as this page and the individual events’ websites for updates.

SoE Graduation Convocation: Friday May 15, 2020

Graduation is made up of two great events to celebrate your achievement: a School of Engineering Graduation Convocation (at the Louis Brown Athletic Center on Friday May 15, 2020) where you’ll join with your engineering graduating class, walk across the stage, and receive individual recognition, followed by the university-wide celebration (at the stadium on Sunday, May 17, 2020), called University Commencement. We hope you will plan to participate in both programs.
Requirements and Registering for SoE Graduation

Engineering students should review each of the items in the checklist to ensure that all requirements for graduation have been completed and that nothing complicates the graduation celebrations.

Ceremony Information for SoE Graduation

At this event, every Graduating Senior will walk across the stage as their name is called. Seniors will shake hands with SOE Deans and Faculty. A professional photographer will be there to capture these moments.

By participating in the School of Engineering convocation ceremony, you are expected to stay for its entirety.

*Note: Graduate students have a separate ceremony through the Graduate School of New Brunswick.

SoE Departmental Award Ceremonies

Dean Thomas Farris and the Chairs of the departments invite seniors and their family and friends to join Rutgers School of Engineering faculty and staff for a celebratory reception (11:00am - 2:15pm) in honor of your achievements!

Parking for Department Award Ceremonies and Senior Sendoff Celebrations on Busch campus will be in Lot 54 or you may park at Livingston Campus Yellow lot and take the campus bus (look for summer bus schedule) to the Busch Campus Student Center bus stop. If facing the Student center the building to your right is the Richard Weeks Hall of Engineering (Glass ship like building).

Senior Shout-Outs

You've worked hard, and now's your chance to...

Say Thanks: Record a shout-out to the special people who have supported you throughout your college career—it might appear on the stadium video board at Commencement!
