Five distinguished alumni of Rutgers University’s School of Engineering will receive the school’s most prestigious awards at the 2013 Medal of Excellence Awards Dinner on Thursday, October 3, 2013. The Awards recognize important contributions made by alumni in advancing technology and innovation in New Jersey and throughout the world.
The Office of Student Services provides access to academic support in the classroom through study groups and tutoring. Study groups allow peers to meet weekly to study, prepare, and organize course materials with the support of graduate facilitator. Our tutoring program offers group and individual support to help strengthen knowledge of engineering concepts and strategies.

Along with the other engineering majors, the School of Engineering offers an Applied Sciences major. Applied sciences in engineering is an individualized interdisciplinary program that is not subject to professional accreditation.

Of all the engineering disciplines, mechanical engineering is the most broad-based, extending its reach into a wide range of industries, including automotive, aerospace, industrial machinery, manufacturing, mining, oceanographic, petroleum, pharmaceutical, power, printing, and textiles.
