Engineering Alumni Gather for Homecoming Tailgate

Blue skies and unseasonably warm temperatures greeted more than 165 School of Engineering alumni, faculty, and friends at the annual School of Engineering Alumni Football Tailgate on Saturday, October 21, 2017. We were honored to have new Rutgers University-New Brunswick Chancellor Deba Dutta and his wife join us before watching the Scarlet Knights triumph over the Purdue Boilermakers.

2017 Medal of Excellence Event Recognizes Alumni Achievement

Rutgers University–New Brunswick’s School of Engineering honored five distinguished graduates of the school at a gala event on Thursday, October 5, recognizing alumni achievement in technology and asset management, automotive safety research, telecommunications advancements, and aerospace innovation. More than 250 alumni, industry partners, faculty, and students attended the 2017 Medal of Excellence and Distinguished Alumni event which celebrated the accomplishments of John P. Supplying Haiti with “Healing Water”

SoE group works with Dlo Geri to develop and install safe water systems

Clean, safe drinking water –the most basic of human needs—can be in short supply in Haiti. A group of scientists and engineers that includes School of Engineering graduates and current students has joined forces with Dlo Geri, a not-for-profit group that works to deliver safe drinking water to the people of Haiti.

$500,000 NSF Grant Supports Rutgers’ Innovation

Continuing to pave the way in innovation, Rutgers is launching a new program to bridge the gap between the lab and marketplace.

Materials science and engineering professor Dunbar Birnie led the team that recently received a $500,000 grant to support Rutgers' inventions for the next five years through the NSF I-Corps program. According to the NSF, the I-Corps program works to bring research projects to the marketplace, thereby fostering a national ecosystem of innovation.
