Seidel creates documentary to highlight student’s involvement in EWB

Engineers without Borders (EWB) is an organization that has over 350 projects that focus on providing necessities such as water, renewable energy, sanitation and more to over 45 developing countries around the world. These projects are completed in partnership with local communities and NGOs. EWB helps create a more prosperous environment by addressing people's basic human needs and implementing projects that are sustainable and reliable.

To honor the work done by EWB, Dena Seidel, award winning documentary editor, producer and writer, as well as the Director of Digital Storytelling for the Rutgers University Writers House, is in the process of filming a documentary that highlights student projects that are currently being implemented in Thailand, Guatemala, and Kenya. In order to truly capture the personal growth and development of the students involved in this process, Seidel will be following the student’s progress over time and will simultaneously focus on the reaction and response of the host communities.

Seidel’s credits include films for National Geographic, Discovery Channel, Channel 13/WNET, HBO, ABC, The Learning Channel, WGBH Boston, Turner broadcasting and Court TV. As a recipient of a New York Festivals Award for Best Editing and a New York Emmy Award for Outstanding Editing, Seidel’s documentary will truly highlight the great achievements and contributions of the engineering students at Rutgers University.
