Dr. Tugrul Ozel, elected as Associate Member of CIRP

Associate Professor, Dr. Tugrul Ozel, elected as Associate Member of CIRP, the International Academy for Production Engineering

CIRP, the French acronym for the International Academy for Production Engineering, is the world leading organization in production engineering research. Candidature for Associate Membership involves active involvement in the work of CIRP, and a rigorous election process which is decided upon by the Council on the recommendation of the Nominations Subcommittee.

Of the 150 total Associate Members in the Academy, Rutgers University’s Dr. Tugrul Ozel, was recently elected to become one the Associate Members. Dr. Ozel has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering since July 1, 2008 and has been the Director of the Manufacturing Automation Research Laboratory here at Rutgers University since 2002. His achievements include countless published research articles in leading manufacturing research journals, and specifically, his articles published in the International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture have been ranked #1 and #3 on the Top10 Cited articles in the past five years.

Dr. Ozel’s contributions have truly been a testament to CIRP’s restricted membership, where members demonstrate exceptional achievement in research and live up to the mission and vision of CIRP.
