Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program

The Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program is administered through the Rutgers School of Graduate Studies, and is also a joint venture between the School of Engineering and the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, which is part of the Rutgers Biomedical Health Sciences. The program includes over 75 faculty from Rutgers' science and engineering departments, Robert Wood Johnson, and other academic institutions in the area, as well as local industry contacts.

Admission Requirements

A complete application for the Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program consists of the electronic application, three letters of recommendation, the application fee, official transcripts from previous academic institutions, a personal statement which addresses the reasons for interest in graduate study, and TOEFL scores (if an international applicant). GRE General Test scores are required for PhD applicants and are strongly preferred for MS/ME applicants. 

Deadlines

ALL PhD applications must be received by December 15 for consideration for the Fall cycle. Supporting material must be received shortly thereafter so that the Admissions Committee can begin reviewing application in January.  ALL MS and ME applications and supporting material must be received by March 1 for consideration for the Fall cycle. BME at Rutgers admits students primarily for the fall terms.
