Dr. Sriram Chandrasekaran received his BS in Biotechnology from Anna University in 2008, and a PhD in Biophysics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2013. Dr. Chandrasekaran worked at Harvard University and MIT as a Harvard Junior Fellow between 2013 and 2016. His Systems Biology lab at Michigan is developing computer models of cellular networks (metabolism, gene regulation and signaling) to understand how these networks break down in disease, and how they can be targeted for therapy.
He is the recipient of the 2011 Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) International Predoctoral Fellowship, the 2014 William Milton Fund award, and a finalist for the 2012 Lemelson MIT Illinois student award for innovation. Dr. Chandrasekaran was elected as a junior fellow to the Harvard Society of Fellows in 2013.
