President, TLC Products Co., Inc.
Charles Chang founded Topline Products Co., Inc. in 1975, while continuing to work at Lever Brothers, Avon and Airwick Industries over the next seven years. In 1982, Mr. Chang devoted all of his efforts into developing his business. Topline Products Co., Inc. grew into a $100 million global company with headquarters in New Jersey, and facilities in six different countries, including China, France, Brazil, Taiwan, Mexico, and the United States.
Mr. Chang introduced Taiwanese-made cosmetic containers to the U.S. market in the 1980s. His innovative efforts lead him to obtain more than 30 patents globally, many of which have produced huge successes in the cosmetic market and propelled the company to become a major supplier. Under his leadership, Topline Products Co., Inc. grew at 30-percent annually, compounding rates from 2002 to 2009. The company was recognized with a U.S. Pan Asian-American Chamber of Commerce Top 50 Excellence Award in both 2008 and 2009.
Mr. Chang was inducted into the Packaging Hall of Fame in 2007 by the New Jersey Packaging Executives Club. He received distinguished Asian Business Leadership awards in 2009 from the U.S.P.A.A.C. and Wells Fargo. In 2014, he was honored as a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, and also received the Dean's Service Award from the School of Engineering at Rutgers University. Mr. Chang sold Topline Products Co., Inc. in 2016, and found TLC Products in 2017. He served on the Board of Directors at several companies, and is active in various civic non-profit organizations.
He graduated with a master's in Packaging Science and Engineering from Rutgers University in 1975.
