On-campus and off-campus dining at Rutgers

Hello everyone! My name is Jesus Medina and food is undeniably one of my favorite parts about going to Rutgers. There are four dining halls on campus for students to choose from, all of which have the option to dine in or take away, depending on what is convenient for you. Additionally, every student center and some other campus buildings have a variety of fast food restaurants and cafes such as Gerlanda’s, Panera Bread, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Wendy’s, Starbucks, and much more.

Aside from this, Rutgers also has an abundance of off-campus eateries only a couple minutes walking distance from the campus buildings. One of the first discoveries I made during my freshman year was a small Mexican restaurant called Cinco de Mayo that was recommended to me by a senior at the time. This is one of the many places I frequented over the course of my freshman year, which also made up my most often repeated orders on EatStreet, a must-have online food delivery app for all Rutgers students.

Cinco is easily one of the cheapest off-campus food options where a burrito big enough to be two reasonably sized meals (lots of self-control necessary) or one big meal is only $6. The food coma that hits afterward is 100% worthwhile no matter what your stomach tells you. When on College Ave, there are so many food options to choose from but I will never not want a burrito from Cinco de Mayo. When it's 1 a.m. and you're oddly hungry or cramming for an exam, with no intention of going to sleep, I would suggest ordering a Cinco de Mayo burrito for delivery because you, your wallet and your stomach will thank you for it.
