Yiu receives 2011 Sol Seid Student Award of Excellence

The Sol Seid Student Award of Excellence awarded by the New Jersey Professional Engineers in Construction annually honors a collegiate student in the Metropolitan area who has demonstrated outstanding involvement within the field of Civil and Environmental Engineering while maintaining a strong academic record. Sol Seid Student Award of Excellence recipients are honored at the annual Bonhag Awards Dinner Dance where family members, friends and professionals join together to commemorate the achievements of the selected student.

Jackie Yiu, a distinguished undergraduate student of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering with a stellar academic achievement of a 4.0, received the 2011 Sol Seid Student Award of Excellence. Yiu was awarded with a $10,000 scholarship check at the Bonhag Awards Dinner Dance at Nanina’s in Newark, NJ. Yiu was nominated by a Rutgers University professor based on an interest in the construction industry, a strong academic record, as well as significant community involvement both on-campus and off-campus. Yiu plans on attending graduate school after finishing his undergraduate degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rutgers University.
