Professor Prosenjit Bagchi has been named as one of the recipients of the NSF CAREER Awards for Scientists and Engineers. This is one of the highest honors bestowed on young scientists and engineers in the early stages of their careers by the National Science Foundation.
Dr. Bagchi has received this NSF CAREER award for his proposal "CAREER: Convective and diffusive transport of drug delivery vehicles in blood flow in microcirculation". The award amount is $479,634.00 with duration 2009-2014.
The proposal aims to develop high-fidelity simulation tools to study hydrodynamic dispersion of nanoscale drug-carriers in blood, and binding of such particles on to diseased cells.
