Alumni Recruitment Paves a Path to Success

"Put yourself out there. You never know where it might lead."

Sonica Khatri ENG'16 (civil and environmental engineering) is a field cost engineer with Bechtel, thanks in part to an on-campus recruiting effort led by School of Engineering alumnus Brian Reilly, who is a senior vice president at the company.

"I introduced myself to Mr. Reilly after a company presentation, and he said, 'You are Dean Rosen's Sonica.' She had recommended me to him six months earlier, but I couldn't believe he still remembered me," Khatri said.

School of Engineering alumni are part of an on-campus recruiting network that students are able to take advantage of. The most recent reporting indicates 84 percent of graduating students reported career placement six months post graduation, with an average reported salary of $65,000.
