James Nelson is the director of project valuation at PSEG Service Corporation. He is responsible for analyzing new business opportunities, growth and strategic capital investments, and mergers and acquisitions. This work supports all areas of PSEG's business, including: nuclear and fossil generation, renewable generation, regulated transmission, and electric and gas distribution. In a prior role at PSEG, Mr. Nelson was responsible for business planning, project development, and strategic analysis for PSEG Power. Mr. Nelson has more than 25 years of power industry experience in project development, financial analysis, planning, project management, and engineering.
Prior to joining PSEG in 2007, Mr. Nelson was Director of Financial Analysis for PPL where he led the evaluation and analysis of development, acquisition, corporate M&A, and major capital investment opportunities. His prior experience includes leading financial analysis groups at Independent Power firms Fortistar and United American Energy Corp. Mr. Nelson started his career as an electrical engineer for Stone and Webster.
Mr. Nelson graduated from Rutgers University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and from New York University's Stern School of Business with an M.B.A.
