The Engineers Without Borders USA Rutgers University Student Chapter has been named the 2011 recipient of the EWB-USA Premier Chapter Award.

The award was presented on Saturday, March 26, during an awards gala and reception held in conjunction with the Eighth Annual EWB-USA International Conference, which took place in Louisville, Ky.

The award recognizes outstanding EWB-USA Student and Professional Chapters who strive to meet the ideals of a successful chapter including excellence in organization, fundraising and public relations, engagement in mentor relationships with professional chapters, and excellence and leadership within chapter and regional participation.

The Rutgers Student Chapter continues to demonstrate commitment to building a strong chapter and has ensured the successful implementation of projects in Guatemala and Kenya,” said Cathy Leslie, Executive Director of Engineers Without Borders USA. “The chapter made great strides to work alongside their communities to create lasting change, sustainability and impact; it is with great pleasure that we recognize them as a premier chapter.”
