Title: Engineered Diseased Myocardial Tissue Model: Interaction Between Macrophages and Cardiomyocytes

Dr. Eun Jun Lee earned her undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from Dongduk Women’s University in Seoul Korea and her doctorate from Columbia University in biomedical engineering.  Through her PhD training in  Cardiac Biomechanics Group at Columbia University and Post Doc training in Vascular Biology and Therapeutics Group and Stem Cell Center at Yale University, she gained background and expertise in cardiovascular tissue models.

Dr. Lee’s primary research interest is to develop functional vascularized engineered tissues by an integrated use of stem cells, novel biomaterials, and biomimetic bioreactors for tissue regeneration as well as for better understanding of cell-cell signaling and cellmatrix interactions for treatment of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
